Introduction
EMCORE, LLC is committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly. As part of this commitment, we strive to ensure that the materials used in our products are sourced in a manner that respects human rights and does not contribute to conflict or exploitation.

Background
Certain minerals—tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold (collectively referred to as “3TG”)—are commonly used in manufacturing processes. These minerals may originate from conflict-affected and high-risk areas, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and adjoining countries, where mining activities have been associated with human rights abuses and armed conflict.

Our Commitment
EMCORE, LLC does not knowingly source conflict minerals that directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups. We are committed to:

  • Responsible sourcing of 3TG minerals
  • Supporting efforts to end human rights abuses linked to mineral extraction
  • Promoting transparency within our supply chain

Scope
This policy applies to all suppliers, vendors, and business partners who provide goods or services to EMCORE, LLC that may contain 3TG minerals.

Supplier Requirements
We require our suppliers to:

  • Establish policies and due diligence procedures consistent with this policy
  • Identify and disclose the origin of 3TG minerals used in their products
  • Source from smelters and refiners that are validated as conflict-free
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including Section 1502 of the U.S. Dodd-Frank Act
  • Cooperate with our requests for information and audits regarding conflict minerals

Due Diligence and Risk Management
EMCORE, LLC aligns its practices with internationally recognized standards, including the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas. We assess risks in our supply chain and take appropriate actions to mitigate identified risks.

Continuous Improvement
We are committed to ongoing evaluation and improvement of our sourcing practices. We will engage with suppliers and stakeholders to enhance supply chain transparency and accountability.

Reporting and Compliance
Suppliers and employees are encouraged to report concerns related to conflict minerals sourcing. Non-compliance with this policy may result in corrective actions, including termination of business relationships.

Approval
This policy is approved by senior management and will be reviewed periodically to ensure its continued effectiveness.
