Augmenting Navigation, Control, and Guidance Systems.
Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV)
EMCORE (QMEMS) gyroscopes and Fiber Optic Gyroscopes (FOGs) are pivotal technologies in the navigation, control, and operational effectiveness of Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs). UGVs often operate in GPS-compromised or denied environments, or complex and hostile environments where precise positioning, orientation, and stability are critical for mission safety and success.
Both QMEMS and FOGs enhance UGV performance by enabling stable maneuvering, accurate path following, and precise payload orientation, such as camera gimbals, robotic arms, or sensor arrays. They allow advanced autonomous functions like obstacle avoidance, terrain adaptation, and mission planning.
EMCORE QMEMS solutions tightly couple a digital quartz IMU and optional Coarse/Acquisition (C/A) Code or SAASM GPS engine to provide an extremely small, lightweight, and low-cost guidance solution to enabling the safe and secure arrival of personnel and supplies to previously inaccessible areas with pinpoint accuracy on remote patrolling missions.
EMCORE QMEMS SDD-3000 gyroscope, SDI-500 IMU, and SDN-500 INS/GPS, TAC-450 Series IMU, GEO-FOG 3D INS provide exceptional bias stability, low Angle Random Walk values, and superior vibration resistance. Our UGV solutions are a highly miniaturized and low-cost for further augmenting navigation, control, and guidance systems.
EMCORE Benefits Critical to Customer Requirements:
- Self-Contained System
- Exceptional Bias Stability
- Low Angle Random Walk Values
- Superior Vibration Performance
- Compact Package Design
- Optimized Kalman Filtered Navigation Solution (SDN500)
