UAVs operate in dynamic and often unpredictable environments, where precise navigation, stability, and control are essential for mission success. Quartz MEMS are superior to silicon-based MEMS, yet retain their small size, low weight, and power consumption attributes. They provide real-time three axis angular rate measurements – enabling the flight control system to detect and correct unwanted rotations, maintain attitude stability, and execute precise maneuvers. QMEMS are ideal for consumer drones and reconnaissance and light tactical UAVs where size and power constraints are critical and mission durations moderate.
FOGs offer high precision, low drift, and exceptional long-term stability, making them suitable for larger or high-performance UAVs requiring extended flight durations, precise navigation, or operation in GPS-denied environments.
Both QMEMS and FOGs improve UAV flight performance by enabling stable hovering, smooth trajectory tracking, and accurate turns – even in turbulent conditions. They are essential for autopiloting, mission planning, and sensor stabilization. QMEMS provide cost-effective, lightweight solutions for general UAV operations, while FOGs enable high-precision navigation with long-term stability and reliability.
For enhanced UAV flight performance and targeting, whether over enemy territory, performing border reconnaissance, tracking convoys, or inspecting remote pipelines, position accuracy is critical.
